Anja Kotar is a California-based singer-songwriter, pianist, and actress. Born and raised in Slovenia, she became involved in the arts from a young age. She was trained in classical piano, danced in a show group, and acted in various plays and movies. She was also featured on the Slovenian X-Factor, performing Adele’s ‘Make You Feel My Love’ in the live TV auditions. In 2012, she decided to take the next step in pursuing her career as an artist by moving to America. Last year, she returned to Slovenia to perform her songs ‘?as je zdaj’ and ‘Too Cool’, which earned her the Best New Artist award from National Radio Television Slovenia.

In May 2017, she released her debut, full-length album NOMAD. Structured as a mixtape, NOMAD is a concept album about growing up in America, and draws from Anja’s personal experiences. The collection is a follow-up to her EP of the same name she released in 2016 after successfully funding a $20,000 Kickstarter campaign. In coordination with the NOMAD album release, Anja also launched an online merchandise store called ‘Too Cool’. She aims to combine her two passions, music and fashion, to create a “multifaceted artistic experience”. Anja is currently attending Berklee College of Music and promoting the release of NOMAD.
