Maccas releases new cheesy range with three burgers

McDonald’s is bringing back its popular ‘Cheesy’ range of burgers but has added a new cheesy item to the menu.

The fast food giant is adding the Cheesy Angus to its menu from August 2.

The star of the new burger is the crispy, golden patty filled with melting cheese. The burger also has the beef patty, bacon, Aussie Jack cheese, tomato, lettuce, McChicken sauce and tomato chilli jam.

Macca’s is also bringing back old favourites, the Cheesy Chicken and Cheesy Beef, that feature the cheesy patty.

The burgers are in addition to the mozzarella sticks that returned recently, and the new raspberry and custard pie McFlurry and the raspberry and custard pie.

Liz Whitbread, senior brand manager for McDonald’s Australia said the winter menu “doesn’t get much better than a cheesy twist on Macca’s iconic flavours”.

“Our last Cheesy range was a huge hit, so if the chilly season has kicked your cheese cravings into overdrive, make sure to head to your local Macca’s before it’s too late,” she said.

It comes as McDonald’s announced it is rolling out 100 new stores in Australia over the next three years in its biggest expansion plan in decades.

The expansion is being spearheaded by the new Australian CEO Antoni Martinez.

While Mr Martinez acknowledged the economic climate was tough for the business, he foresees growth opportunities too.

“What we’re really excited to announce and talk to the broader customer base is a really exciting growth ambition for McDonald’s over the next three years,” he said. “More so than we’ve ever seen since the early 1990s.”
